Thanksgiving Movember

Sometimes the big things in life leave the largest imprint on your day. And sometimes the smallest. I like to try to live each day being inspired by those around me. I also like to sing to those around me at random moments in falsetto: "You're the meaning in my life, you're the inspiration! You bring feeling to my life---you're the inspiration...!" Then I do the Chicago key change and go up a notch: "Wanna have you near me, I wanna have you hear me sayin', no one needs you more that I... need... youuuuuu."

Tons of complaints have been pouring into customer service about how we've become a mustache-exclusive blog. We certainly lovvvvvvvvvve not-shaving, growing and honoring beards, and Movember. But you're mightily wrong if you think we've gone mustache purist. To prove it, here's a snapshot from this past week taken by a close friend with an amazing eye for what truly matters: Short White Shorts in November! Tombstone II

Is Tombstone the greatest mustache film of all time? As previously noted, Val Kilmer's huckleberry stache is incredible, but Kurt Russell as Wyatt Earp is a decent opponent. This one has been growing for 30+ years straight---and is just one cowboy hat away from winning this years Wyatt Earp look-alike contest.

No-Shave Ned Flanders

Bumping into old friends is great---especially when they have both a sense of style + a sense of humor. Take this old friend for example. He's been rocking the Nedward 'Ned' Flanders duster for real as of late.  His mother and I both agree: this could be the best mustache since the last most incredible mustache.

Tombstone

Doesn't he remind you of Doc Holiday in the movie Tombstone, [played by Val Kilmer]? This incredible 'stache is even more incredible in person.  The best part is--he's not rocking it for Movember (no disrespect to the cause and all), he's just rocking it because he felt like it. I respect that. It takes a certain type of man to a) grow something in this category of spectacular, and b) shred something in this spectacular in public. I tip my cowboy hat to you sir!

One word will suffice:  Handlebars.

Actually, I have to mention that his sideburns were equally as impressive....but this photo doesn't provide the angle required to adequately share them with the world. My apologies. In the meanwhile.....enjoy the bars!

Movember Ladies, Movember!!

Like I said in September ladies, mustaches are the next big thing... time to shine on like our talented accent-er friend Patty Allen Stott.  Patty's taken her commitment to Movember a few notches beyond where most are willing to go.     

No-Shave Novembeard Begins

Friends and Family,

Strangers and Enemies,

Men and Women,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We are gathered here today to begin the celebration of the magnificent month of No-Shave Novembeard. On the first grey morning of the first day of the month of Novembeard, each member of our legion of cyber fashionullas takes an icy shovel out into the backyard, removes a small plot of turf and soil, and softly places their razors [both electric and straightblades] into the cool damp fall soil, where they will remain for the entire month. This somber act signifies our freedom from the corporations that demand we use their products daily to shave our legs. Liberty from the companies who 'force' us to trim our mustaches, prune our armpits, buzz our sideburns, shear the hair from our backs, clip the braids from our ears and nostrils, and of course clearcut any possibility of a five o'clock shadow.

Join us this Movember, as we take back what has been stolen from us, as we rightfully reclaim our.... bla bla bla.... don't shave this month.... bla bla bla.... Novembeard is awesome and you should grow a beard or something....woo woo.....hurray hurray!  Let NO-SHAVE NOVEMBEARD begin!!
