If you wanna...[shoes of the week continues...]

If you wanna be amazing...you gotta buy these gold shoes...they have heals, and no laces...but they can make you groove.  If you wanna be the coolest, you have got to prove, that you pull these shoes off with style and you've got nothing to lose. (sung to the tune of Spice Girls - If you Wanna be)

These shoes are actually not made of chocolate, you know what I mean right? Here in Canada our $1.00 coin is called a loonie, and so we get gold chocolate loonies for cheap stocking stuffers and such.  These shoes look like the same gold wrap, or what you'd get for a big easter bunny chocolate, that you usually forget you own and leave in your drawer and then like 6 months later find it - and take a bite - I know, I know, you probably won't admit it - but we always try it, even when it's like 2 years old.  Ok -- sorry, side-tracked.  These shoes were not at some trendy H & M store, they were at Superstore, a large grocery store here in Canada, that also carries household and clothing goods.  And apparently, THESE shoes.  AhhhhMazIng?

shoes of the week - 70s Wow Boots

I appreciate people who select their outfit with the intention of brightening up everyone else's day. These Wow Boots were seen on the 4th level of a large passenger ferry and are fully inspired by Chewbacca, Snuffaluffagus, and of course a litter of fluffy beige Samoyed puppies.

Flipping thru an old trunk in the attic of my great grandparents log cabin recently I happened upon this lovely photo from the late 60s or early 70s. My great uncle Rynhold Fermhar [pictured here] used to craft a pair of these beauties for each of his children (and eventually his grand children)---to last them through the brittle cold of the arctic winter. Much like the wholly mammoth coats made by my twice-removed second great cousin Nestor William Phillipson---the boots made from the hide of a Yak is the best (and sexiest) way to beat the frigid temperatures of the great white north. Bold and beautiful--that's what I always say!

its been undisputed for many years that I have thee best grandpa in the world. as if that's not enough---he's always had thee most stylin' grandpa slippers to accompany his awesomeness. so just the other day, he takes off his current radd plaid-ish slippers, and for some strange shoe-obsessed moment I happened to glance at the branding of these particular slippers---much to my horror/delight, the brand that makes these rockin' bad boys is dangerously called: Tender Tootsies for Men.

in which board room was this decision reached?

you're gonna look me in the eye and tell me that someone [or a group of people] somewhere approved the name: "Tender Tootsies for Men"--for slippers for men?

folks---it just doesn't get any better than this. 

shoes of the week - 89 air pegasus

This is a classic: Nike Air Pegasus '89. One of the first Nike's I remember wanting back in the day. Now they make a 90% all-black and wicked pink? Nike-haters [that's right---I'm calling you out thunderpants], its gonna be tough to find something wrong with this shoe.... your only chance is to a) be a snob b) claim a sliver of pink is too _________. c) not like radd shoes d) be wrong. What's it gonna be?

You may not have heard [that's why I'm here], but this shoe rarely ever makes it to the store shelves---when Nike re-releases it from time to time [originally released in 1996] people camp out overnite to get their hands on them.... and the crazy thing is, its worth every moment of their wait. The Air Jordan XI [Space Jam colorway] is the Polyester Plaid & Haute Couture shoe of the week.

So its possible I maybe, kinda, totally love motorcycle boots... even though I don't ride a 'sickle'' or ever plan on it. I fell in love with the Dayton Rebels a few years back, then seeing these semi-moto partly authentic chillin' wannabe black beauties at Urban Outfitters recently was enough to reawaken what has always been love at first site.

Pretty much for sure the artsy indie casual shoe of the week!  They just look like they want to be worn. No idea what brand they are ... or where they are sold. But I'm sold!
